On #WednesdaysWeRead: Mr. Popper’s Penguins
We had a lot of fun reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl in October and November. At the end of the story we visited a local candy shop to find candies from the story. We then brought them home and ate them while watching the movie!
Since then we’ve been asked what we’re moving onto next and how we plan to celebrate it. So we are starting a regular post called “On Wednesdays We Read”. We break down the book into chunks, post related activities and give an outline of our party at the end!
We’re kicking off 2021 with Mr. Popper’s Penguins! If you haven’t read this story, it’s a silly one involving a man who is fascinated with expeditions to the North and South Pole. He writes a letter to his favorite explorer and the reply begins Mr. Popper on the adventure of a lifetime!
We’ll be reading about 5 chapters a week, which will wrap up the book in one month. Check in next week Wednesday as we begin sharing activity ideas for each “section” and our favorite parts of the story!
